We hope our Supermoms enjoy this helpful tip for making everyday tasks a little more fun for everyone!
When doing everyday tasks such as dressing, changing diapers, bathing, getting in a car seat, getting in stroller or any other activity that takes a few minutes of time requiring patience from the toddler, use sound effects for the steps involved in the task. A repetitive “BOOM”. “BOOM”, or any sound, will keep your toddler’s attention while you are focused on completing the task. Try not to give directive statements like wait, or sit, or stay still. Most likely your child will respond better to playful noises and sounds! It makes putting on pants much more fun when mom is saying “Uh, Uh, Uh UP goes the pants!”, or “Whoosh!”, or “One shoe on… whoosh another shoe on!”.
