Making Sense of Sounds for Reading & Spelling

A small group that establishes multi-sensory awareness of sounds , for increasing the rate, accuracy and fluency of reading as well as boosting spelling.
Session I June 7-July 1 & Session II July 5-29 Mondays and Wednesdays
Grades 1st-3rd 1:00-2:00; Grades 4th-6th 12:00-1:00 Session = 8 classes $600.00

The Write Idea!

A small group for instruction in written language and composition skills.
Session I June 7-July 1 & Session II July 5-29 Mondays and Wednesdays
Ages 8-10 10:00-11:00; Ages 11-13 2:00-3:00: Ages 14-17 3:00-4:00 Session = 8 classes $600.00

Let’s Take Turns

A social language skills group to learn and practice communication skills that are critical to mature, successful social interactions throughout life.
Session I June 7-July 1 & Session II July 5-29 Tuesdays and Thursdays
Ages 5-7 10:00-11:00; Ages 8-10 11:00-12:00; Ages 11-13 1:00-2:00 Session = 8 classes $400.00 + $10.00 supply fee*

Rhyme Tyme

A fun-filled group that will use book reading, arts and crafts, music, and games to explore sounds and increase your child’s phonological awareness skills.
Session I June 7-July 1 & Session II July 5-29 Mondays and Wednesdays
Ages 4-6 9:30-10:30 Session = 8 classes $400.00

Pen Pals Handwriting Group

This group will establish the underlying skills and good habits necessary for handwriting success.
First Strokes
Fine motor skills, pencil grip, strokes and letter recognition

ABC's: Introduction to writing upper and lower case letters

Please provide a writing sample upon registration to ensure that your child will be placed in the appropriate group.

How Does Your Engine Run?

An Alert Program group for Self-RegulationTM that will help children learn sensory strategies to get themselves to a calm, alert state that facilitates learning, sustained attention, completion of tasks, and smooth transitions.

Yikes Bikes

A group where children will have fun learning basic skills necessary for riding their bikes.
Session I June 14-18 Monday-Friday 8:00-9:00
Session = 4 classes $300.00

Reading Between the Lines


A small group for building skills in reading comprehension. Intended for students who read accurately, but have difficulty constructing meaning from what they read, and perform poorly on tests.
Session I June 7-July 1 Session II July 5-29 Tuesdays and Thursdays
Ages 8-10 1:00-2:00; Ages 11-13 11:00-12:00; Ages 14-17 2:00-3:00

Fast ForWord® Family of Programs (Individual Program)


A computer-based intervention tool designed to remediate auditory processing, oral language and phonologically-based reading disorders. Customized programs suited for children 1st grade through high school. Please see Abilities staff for scheduling and pricing information.

Interactive Metronome® (Individual Program)


A computer-based program developed to directly improve the processing abilities that affect attention, motor planning and sequencing. Abilities has certified instructors on staff. For all school-age children. Please see an Abilities staff member for scheduling and pricing information.

We reserve the right to cancel a group if it does not meet its capacity.
Note: In each group, we will not begin filling Session II until Session I is full.
