A Summer Writing Program

Based on skills and strategies from Ready, Set, Write! Level II

• Individual instruction in written language skills
• Addresses written language content, vocabulary, and idea generation; builds skills in spelling, word formation, grammar, and paragraph writing; establishes a process for various formats of writing
• Presented in a fun, activity-based format and resulting in a published collection of the student's work
• Student goals are individualized through on-going assessment, parental concerns, and school history
• Conducted by a Speech-Language Pathologist with 25 years experience and specializing in disorders of reading and written expression
• For students also in need of handwriting intervention, sessions may be coordinated with occupational therapy services at Abilities
• 45 minute sessions meet twice weekly for four weeks (8 sessions)
• Appropriate for students of all ages: first grade through high school
